Pittsfield Fire Department Selling Bricks to Fund Building

PITTSFIELD, Ill. (WGEM) -

Pittsfield, Illinois, firefighters say they're running out of space in their current building, so they're trying to raise money to build another one.

Assistant Fire Chief Tom Reinhardt says the fire department is selling memorial bricks that range from $100 to $500.

He says people can dedicate a brick to anyone they want.

The Pittsfield Fire Department has started selling Memorial Bricks that will be forever displayed on the new 6,000 sq. ft. building that will be built next to the existing firehouse.

Pittsfield fire department kicks off memorial brick fundraiser for new building

PITTSFIELD, Ill. -- Pittsfield Fire Chief Jason White sees a planned new building as a better way to serve the community -- and a chance for the community to put its mark on the building with memorial bricks.

The department hopes to raise $200,000 through the fundraiser, kicking off this week in connection with Saturday's 34th annual Firemen's Dance, to put engraved bricks ranging in size from 4 by 8 inches to 16 by 24 inches on the new fire station or dedicate a door.
